About Dr. Betty Siegel

In 2006, Dr. Siegel stepped down from her role as president of Kennesaw State University and stepped up to the world stage. She had already initiated the first Oxford Conclave on Global Ethics at Oxford University in England (2005) and contributed to two subsequent Oxford conferences. In 2007, she was invited to Stellenbosch University in South Africa and spent 3 months as a guest lecturer in multiple forums. A year later she returned to Stellenbosch to co-host a 3-day symposium entitled Stellenbosch Seboka (A Coming Together) at the Wallenberg Research Center. Dr. Siegel was the opening speaker on an agenda that included The Most Reverend, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Frances Hesselbein and other renowned icons of ethics and character.

A few more highlights from Dr. Siegel’s stellar career include:

  • First and longest serving woman president in the Georgia University System; grew Kennesaw State University from 3,500 to 18,000 students; from 15 degrees to 55.
  • Recognized with numerous honors including: Lifetime Ethics Advocate Award; Distinguished Services Award; Georgia Hall of Fame; Two time Woman of the Year Award; Lifelong Leadership Award; Lifetime Achievement Award; Shining Star Award; Distinguished Educator Award... and many others.
  • Currently serves on many national, international, business, and civic boards.
